Field Service Engineer - Vehicle Electrics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics
Field Based (covering Essex and East Anglia)
Circa £29,000 DOE Plus Comprehensive Bonus Structure, Pension, BUPA
Since 1969, our client has been serving their customers in the waste tanker market. They are now one of the largest manufacturers of liquid waste tankers and jetting equipment in Europe. An opportunity has now arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join their team.
This is the ideal role for a motivated mechanical engineer with a good knowledge of vehicle maintenance, looking to further their career within a long established company.
As a Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining our client’s vehicles throughout Essex and East Anglia, as well as other areas in the UK when required.
In addition to servicing vehicles and commissioning equipment, you will be tasked with building and maintaining strong relationships with customers. You will also identify opportunities for generating additional work and reporting them to management.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Excellent mechanical and fault finding skills
- Knowledge or experience of vehicle electrics, pneumatics and hydraulics
- A full valid driving licence
As a Field Service Engineer you must have excellent customer facing skills and good problem solving abilities. The ability to work under pressure is also key.
Although not essential, having completed an engineering apprenticeship would be beneficial to your application. A good understanding of commercial vehicles or agricultural machines would also be advantageous, as would previous experience in a similar role as a Field Service Engineer.
